I’m so excited to have a samba routine for my showcase this year. It is a lively dance of Brazilian origin and evokes images of dancers in colorful and festive costumes celebrating on the streets. This is my first attempt at dancing the samba. Year after year, I challenge myself with my choice of dance. Thanks to my instructor and to the coaches for helping me achieve my goals and encouraging me to do better always. Thanks to the Fred Astaire Midtown studio for providing the students with the venue for showcasing their talents and their love for dance.

"Born and raised in Rome, Italy, my favorite toy as a child was a ball. The first sign of what I had believed to be an unmatched passion-volleyball-which has guided me throughout my Italian life. Life in New York has surprised me, leading me into a completely new world. Like when I wore knee pads and stepped onto a volleyball court, closing the study door behind me and putting on my ballet shoes is the ritual that transports me to a magical world, my happy place: the weight of life dissipates, leaving me to breath; my mind is finally silent, only hearing the music, while my body follows the rhythm. Here I am, once again with my smile, full of energy and always determined to give the best of myself back to something that donates  me pure life."
