Badger - April 30 - May 01, 2021

Director's Note

When I first read Badger 18 months ago, I knew it was a story I wanted to tell. At the time, I didn't think it would be my Masters thesis - and I also didn't think we'd be making Zoom theatre for 12+ months - but here we are, and I'm so happy with the process and results.

This story about 4 fiercely strong, and very different, women is a story that's important for young people to see and to tell. It tackles big issues that are so very prevelant in young people's lives like feminism, fighting for equality, and LGBTQ+ identities. For our students to experience and tell a story like this as just one way theatre can make an impact, not only on them, but also on the community.

Thank you to families for helping turn bedrooms and basements into film studios, for learning how to do 1940's hairstyles, and picking up costumes so our students could record from home.

Thank you to everyone from the RU Fast Track program. Your support, wisdom, words of encouragement, Zoom work sessions, and inspiration has helped me grow immensely and I am forever grateful.
