Bring It On The Musical - July 20 - July 22, 2017

Georgia Theatre Arts

 End Notes

Many director’s notes are filled with information about the play, or the process, or the importance of the play in society or theatre history.  As a point of personal privilege, let’s discuss something a little more general, yet specific to each individual.  Every person on this stage, involved in this production, form the producers to the actors, to the crew and pit have their own unique passion. What you see on this stage this evening is a result of that passion. It may be acting, dancing, music, theatre, or anything you can imagine, but because they have that passion they have collectively created something wonderful.  They have created art.

Theatre is very much a collaborative art form and relies on the talents, the ideas, and yes the passion from everyone involved. Too often in our society we sacrifice that passion for expediency or out of fear of failure. It is understandable.  However…what you see here tonight, indeed what you see on Broadway, or a concert hall, or in a museum is the direct result of people not suppressing their passion but embracing it, nurturing it.  Because of this, because they have had a parent, a teacher, a friend, encourage them, support them these talented artist are in front of you now.

Frequently, that passion is given a spark by a teacher. We should take a moment to thank every arts educator and recognize the importance of the arts in our educational system.  Our host school believes strongly in the arts and we are all the benefactor for that belief.

Follow your passion, bring your gift to the world whatever it may be.  If you are the music, if it flows through you let it flow and share with us all the gift you are given.

We are proud to bring you this production of Bring it On. We bring all of our passion to this stage for you tonight. We hope you enjoy the show.

Theatre 5230 would like to dedicate their Production of Bring It On to Booker Kidd and Liam James Fabianski.
