DIRECTOR'S NOTE
I don't think she did it.
That's the most honest thing I can tell you about the history of Lizzie Borden and her family. If you're in Massachusetts and you do this show, you have to do the deep dive. We did. We went to the Borden House (and met another cast doing a Lizzie Borden show.) I know more than I need, and until someone finds a definitive answer, not enough.
LIZZIE: The Musical plays fast and loose with the truth. Rumor becomes belief, belief becomes fact. There are two things I know. Andrew and Abby Borden were murdered, and Lizzie was acquitted.
None of this really matters to us, though. This show does something else. It shows its anger, lets it boil and tears the roof off the world. It refuses to apologize or be put back in its box. That's what drew me to it. I hope you find the same thing.
To the cast and crew, you always have my thanks. Your talent and dedication have been inspiring. To the audience and our supporters, this wouldn't look like anything it is without you.
To Lori and Vitek, once again, your welcome and generosity make us possible. Gateway City Live supported us massively and I cannot thank them enough.
I don't know what's next, but whatever it is, it'll be fun.

WHAT THE HECK IS A GHOST LIGHT ANYWAY?
A ghost light, in theater terms, is a bare bulb left on the stage when the theater is dark. This is to prevent anyone entering the theater from falling off the edge or running into set pieces.
However, theater people are a superstitious lot, and adapted the safety measure to a tradition that says the ghost light is either so the spirits of the theater can perform with light (and what theater isn’t haunted?) or that it is there to dispel the spirits aiming to make mischief on stage.
Here at Ghost Light Theater we love the idea of a stage never without light, a stage constantly ready to perform.
