Dear Edwina: Online Edition was a very eye-opening experience, displaying how despite obstacles, children can still come together to create a wonderful show-paralleling the plot of the script. Caroline and I have worked collaboratively throughout the process of Dear Edwina. As co-acting directors, we made it our mission to assist your talented kids to not just play their characters, but learn how to become them. They made each gesture and phrase their own creation of the character. The cast accomplished this through movement activities and other character-intention work. We learned to block a different way this year, facing all different angles to create a frame perspective. We also played multiple theatre games throughout the process, including: “Machine” (a fan favorite), “The Number Game,” as well as “Excuses,” (another favorable improv game). As an actor, I have taken many masterclasses involving Archetypes and Chekov Techniques with seasoned actor and director-Josh Chenard. The esteemed Neil Burch, has instilled in me optimism, and to “trust in the process.” With their teachings in mind, I have learned to continue character development both on and off stage. Despite the struggles, there were giggles overall. I hope that your children have created lifelong bonds and connections, even through a screen. Thank you all for keeping your trust in the process! Enjoy the Show!
With Great Appreciation,

Dear Edwina Cast and Crew,
I cannot even begin to express how proud you all should be of what we have made together. I am beyond proud of you all and so excited with how far you have all come since our first day of auditions. Even though we encountered many obstacles trying to tackle a virtual production, you all helped us confront it head on and create a beautiful final product. I am in awe of the talent that each and every one of you possess, and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for making this show a reality. I am so excited for you to see the show, and I hope you love it as much as I do. Go Goochland Drama!
Love,

Dear Edwina Cast, Crew, and Families,
Thank you so much for joining us for our virtual production of “Dear Edwina!” It will always surprise me how quickly time flies. I am so inspired by these students and their desire to continue their growth as artists, especially while attending rehearsals through a computer screen. The Leadership Team and I could not be prouder of your talented children for showing up with talent, determination, and cooperation during such a challenging time. This experience was no easy task, and it was a new environment for all of us. Thank you to the cast & crew of “Dear Edwina!” I am so proud of you,

Dear parents and guardians,
I want to thank you all for your understanding and support during this very different production of the GMS musical Dear Edwina Online Edition. This was a new adventure for us all and even though there were some "bumps in the road", we pushed through and created a show we can all be very proud of to share with others. This production could not have happened without your help and support and we are very appreciative.
With sincere appreciation,
