Channeling Grimm, from the moment we cast the show, I realized how special this cast and crew was. I told this cast from the very beginning how special I knew this was going to be. I had a vibe, a really good vibe.
I was right. This is a special cast and crew. They are talented, funny, kind and each one brings something wonderful to the stage. I have new actors and I have actors that have been with me for all three years. The novice to the experienced. What a run this has been. I have watched everyone improve, and level up their performance. I have watched the confidence grow in each of them.
I have been a director for a REALLY long time, and I have seen the whimsical effect the stage has on these students. Theatre helps with so many things. From being confident within yourself to learning how to get along with the family that you are pushed into. Theatre helps you grow and thrive in any environment. I beleive the best part is the friends; the best of friends you make along the way.
I never get tired of directing because every show is a different experience. This show is no different. I will miss rehearsals, building relationships with my cast and crew, and most of all, I will miss watching the process before the performance.
