Guymon Community Theatre

 President's Letter

Greetings Theatre Fans,

Welcome to the Guymon Community Theatre! We are pleased that you have chosen to visit the theatre and support the great people who have poured hours of volunteer time into this show. We hope that you get a lot of laughs, and will be back to support other shows and events.

We are excited to announce the 41st Season of Guymon Community Theatre along with some exciting changes we hope will help the theatre continue to maintain costs and increase productivity!

After a suspenseful time awaiting news from the Oklahoma Arts Council, we are excited to share that this year’s major grant was approved for matching funds on show expenses including “The Producers”, “Lion in Winter”, and “Rent”.  Additionally, we recently hosted a sing-a-long fundraiser of Rocky Horror Picture Show, and will have an original play written by Noah Golaboff performed in December. This comedic, family-oriented, one-act play is about the Guymon Community Theatre volunteers preparing to perform the Nativity for all their patrons and the public.

This historic theatre building is in need of some large and minor repairs including a new roof, curtains, sound equipment, bathroom/plumbing repairs, and an upgrade from the outdated and expensive lighting to efficient LEDs. If you know of anyone who may have new or used equipment they would consider donating or selling at low cost to the organization, please let us know. We always welcome other donations such as supplies (new make-up, wigs, costumes, painting supplies, etc.). Please see our new ACH (Automatic-Withdrawl) options, as well. As little as $10 a month would go a long way to revive this local theatre and up production levels.

As always, new board members, patrons, and volunteers are always welcome to join and help us organize, manage, and grow this great organization. We are always in need of people for small and large roles from on stage, behind the scenes, in the concession stand, in the light or sound booth, on the cleaning crew, creative team, and more. Feel free to stop in to a rehearsal or monthly board meeting to see how it works.

Now, on with the show!
