NOTES FROM THE DIRECTOR

  • “Impossible things are happening everyday!” Welcome to Hughesville High School's production of Cinderella. From Brothers Grimm to Rodgers and Hammerstein to Disney the story of a young girl navigating her way through life with kindness and grace. As we enter another year of navigating through the world, Cinderella just felt like the right choice to prove the impossible possible all while doing it with grace, kindness, and a little bit of magic. Ever since I was a child I loved fairy tales, being able to make magic happen on stage while sharing a different view point of this timeless fairytale with this amazing cast and crew has truly been a wonderful experience. Cinderella was originally presented on television in 1957 staring Julia Andrews, a remake in 1997 stared Brandy as Cinderella and Whitney Houston as her Fairy Godmother added an upbeat sort of twist to the classic story. Although we have many magical surprises in store for our version of this classic love story nothing ever seems to beat the magic of when the glass slipper finally fits!
  • Note to all stepsisters - watch this version!!
  • To my Seniors- It's always bittersweet to watch your last performance. Not many people get the pleasure of getting to see how much you have grown over these past couple of months and left speachless at just how talented you all truly are.

Becca(bird caw in the distance)- You are so multi-talented it's crazy. From painting, acting, singing, stagemanaging, to even teaching! You are an incredible force that I can't wait for the rest of the world to get to see too.

Jaci - Thank you for being my brain when I had none! Your inner strength and kindness literally saved me in more ways than I could count. Thank you for helping me remember that we are never truly alone.

Chase - Thank you for being willing to jump into something new. I couldn't have asked for a better prince than you. It's crazy how some things just come so naturally for you. You're a destroyer of dragons and such perfection!

Zack - Thank you for being pulled into our direction. You have been so much fun to teach and be around that the theatre will feel much quieter without you. Never stop showing the world "what the heck is that!"

Kayla - YOU ARE A HAIR GODDESS!! Thank you so much for helping make the actors and their hair look and feel magical.

Maddie - Although you came for Mark; you stayed for the magic. Thank you for being magical again for me when last year cut us short. You truly help make things go from impossible to possible with just the wave of your hand.

ps. Crowns really suit you!
