"All the weekends meeting up with friends and talking about the culture that I love was something that I looked forward to every week. I'm going to miss all the activities that the Board set up for us all these years."

"Honestly HIDRI has been one of the best decisions I've ever made! They taught me so much about my culture and have made me proud to be an Eritrean. Every year I have been in HIDRI has been an exciting and wonderful experience. It's nice having something to do every Saturday. You get to bond with old friends and meet new people. It's refreshing to share the same traditions and stories with everyone. Without HIDRI I would be clueless and not know how great our country came to be. I want to thank the HIDRI Board a whole bunch. They take so much time out of their day to make this organization the way it is. I'm so grateful to be apart of HIDRI with people who care so much! If you are reading this and you're not in HIDRI, join! If you're looking for a place to have fun then this is definitely for you. It's worth it, trust me!

"In my two years of being in HIDRI, I have learned so much about my culture. Not only have I learned more about it, but I have developed a greater sense of appreciation for our beautiful homeland Eritrea. HIDRI has helped me understand from who and where I come from, and has provided me with valuable skils and knowledge in order to move forward and succeed in live as a first generation Eritrean American. As I graduate this year, I am really going to miss meeting every week and the fun activites we've participated in, but most of all I am going to miss all the great people I've met and gotten to know who share the same sense of identity.
