Mamma Mia! - March 26 - March 28, 2026

H Frank Carey High School

 End Notes

Bringing Mamma Mia! to life with a high school cast has been an absolute joy and a meaningful reminder of what theatre is truly about:connection, courage, and community.

At its heart, Mamma Mia! is a story about love in all it's forms-romantic, familial, and self-discovery. While the show is filled with infectious energy, humor, and the timeless music of ABBA, it also asks deeper questions: Who am I? Where do I belong? And how do the choices of our past shape the people we become? These are questions that resonate powerfully with young performers standing on the edge of their own futures.

This production has been built on dedication, creativity, and bravery of our students. They have embraced the challenge of balancing comedy with sincerity, spectacle with storytelling, and have poured themselves into every rehearsal, every note, every moment on stage. What you will see tonight is not just a musical, but the result of collaboration, growth and trust.

I must take this opportunity to thank all the wonderful people who have made this show as special as it is. My Creative Team: Antonia Healy, Kelly Schlittenhardt, Samantha Gioia, Alessandro Vanni and Joseph Tito. You have all done amazing work and it's been such a joy to work with you.  Chris Carmody, my boss, for always being so understanding and helpful during musical season.  Gina Sampogna, our business manager, for keeping me on track with paperwork and helping the students with fundraising. My boys, Brendan and Brady, for keeping everything together at home. Lastly, my beautiful daughter Haley for sharing her talent and vast, firsthand knowledge of all things Mamma Mia! with myself and the cast.

I am incredibly proud of this cast for their committment and spirit.  They have created something vibrant, heartfelt, and full of joy-exactly what this show calls for.

So sit back, relax, and let yourself be swept away by the music, the laughter and the love. Thank you for supporting live theatre and the next generation of storytellers.

Enjoy the show!
