Director/ Producer
Ms. Yunga Webb (Director) is excited to direct her fifth musical production at Harbor Day School. Having worked with Broadway directors and choreographers, she is excited to bring her professional experience to the students at Harbor Day. She believes that every student with a passion for the arts has the potential to perform in a larger capacity with hard work and dedication. In her time as a teacher from Orange County High School of the Arts, she worked with many young actors ranging from a beginning level to young actors on major network television shows. Shrek the Musical is one of her all time favorite musicals and directing this show with such a talented group of students has been the highlight of her year. She cannot wait for the class of 2019 to wow the Harbor Day community and she hopes you enjoy the show!

Joel Maki
Music Director
Joel Maki (Musical Director) is thrilled to be joining the Harbor Day School musical tradition. As a music teacher, Mr. Maki has directed and musical directed nearly 20 musicals here in Southern California, ranging from elementary to high school. His work has been praised in local newspapers and by the Educational Theater Association. While a student at Hunter College, he studied under Dr. Victor Bobetsky, who is an acclaimed professor and author for theater educators. Before moving out West, Mr. Maki was a New York City based professional musical theater actor, performing in international and national touring companies. Although he may sometimes miss being on stage, Mr. Maki finds being on the “other side of the table” even more rewarding and has enjoyed working with this fantastic group of students and creative team. He is thankful to Ms. Webb for choosing a musical with such a positive message that loudly sings “what makes us special, makes us strong!”
