From the Chair of the Director
Welcome to the Hempstead High School Drama Club production of Shrek.
We have been working on this production for close to three months and I have come to realize that in an age where DEI has negative connotations, this show celebrates Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Of course, that doesn't happen overnight. Shrek, Donkey, Fiona and the fairytale characters are all searching for a place to call home where they feel welcome. They realize that if they all work together, they can accomplish their goals.
The Drama Club, too, has realized that if we all work together, we can accomplish a production like the one you are about to witness.
In a world where many people are judged before anyone really knows them, we, the cast and crew of Shrek, welcome all of you to our "home" in the David B. Gates auditorium. We hope you enjoy our production of Shrek!
