Sweeney Todd - April 25 - April 28, 2024

Henry Clay High School

 End Notes

Thank you very much for attending our production of Sweeney Todd. This show has been in the making for six months and many hours of hard work have been put into what you are about to see. Without the countless hours put in by the cast, crew, choreographer, vocal directors and the Theater Design/Sculpture class, this show would be impossible to do so a big thank you is owed to all of those students.

We would also like to thank the faculty and staff at Henry Clay. Without the hard work of the custodians our stage and the theater as a whole would be a mess. They put in the hard work each and every day to make this a very nice space to perform.

We are also very appreciative to our administration that have helped give us the materials and time needed to do everything that is involved in putting on a production.

Thank you to all of the parents and families that helped get the cast and crew to practice each and every day. We appreciate your time and dedication in supporting our production as well as your child.

A massive shoutout also goes to Layla Bryant and Zoe Derbyshire, my co-directors. Without their leadership and hard work the practices would have been a lot less organized and productive. They are the backbone of this production and the reason it is so well put together. They helped make this show look the way it is with their countless great ideas and insights.

One of our favorite parts of this show that you're about to see is the dancing throughout. Charlotte White worked on this fantastic choreography for months and we're all excited for you to see it. She brought so much fun to this show and helped take it up to the next level and we thank her massively for that!

We would also like to thank Maryn Weber who took on being the vocal director for one of the hardest shows, vocally, ever. We would also like to thank Mr. Cranfill for all of his help with the vocals. He helped us get through a lot of the very tough sections of music for this production. Without Maryn and Mr. Cranfill's help, this show would be rough on the ears.

We would also like to thank Mr. Holladay, Mr. Bolander, and Shannon Baker for the help in designing the barber chair. This was the biggest technical piece in the show and took months of designing and testing to get it right. Without their help I would still be trying to figure out how to build it.

Lastly I would again like to thank the cast. As you can see from the Playbill, many students are involved in this production and without the hard work and dedication of each, this show would be hard to watch. Each student you see tonight has worked very hard on their craft and for many of them this is their first time on this stage performing. I would also like to give a big shoutout to our seniors in the cast and crew. Thank you all for being leaders among the cast and crew and working harder and harder each show to better your craft.

We hope you enjoy the months of hard work put in by hundreds of students and we look forward to seeing you at next year's shows!

Thank you,

Kiefer Shuler
