High Desert

 A Note From the Directors

When we first began building the High Desert Theater Club, we never could have imagined just how much this program would grow in only a few short months. What started as an idea quickly became something much bigger. It became a group of students willing to take risks, work hard, support one another, and step onto a stage in front of an audience with courage and confidence.

For many of our performers, this was their very first production. As adults, it is easy to forget just how terrifying it can feel to stand in front of your peers, sing, act, dance, or even speak loudly enough for an audience to hear you. Yet these students showed up rehearsal after rehearsal willing to try, learn, grow, and believe in themselves. Watching their confidence build throughout this process has been one of the most rewarding experiences we could have asked for as first-time directors. This production was also built from the ground up in more ways than one. Our sets were constructed by students and staff on our campus and at the high school and by volunteers, our props and scenery were painted with care by students and faculty, and countless people came together to help create something truly special. Theater is never about just one person, it is about teamwork, trust, creativity, and community. We are so proud of the kindness, humor, determination, and heart our students brought to this show every single day.

To our audience, thank you for supporting student theater and encouraging these students to shine. We hope you enjoy the show!

To our cast and crew: thank you for trusting us, making us laugh during rehearsals, and reminding us why the arts matter so much. It has been a pleasure to create the High Desert Theater Club alongside you. We hope this is only the beginning of many productions to come for the High Desert Theater Club.
