History of the Highland Park Youth Theatre Company (HPYTC)

The Highland Park Youth Theatre Company began in the fall of 2011 as a place where budding young artists could work on their acting, singing and dancing skills. Operating through Highland Park Recreation, the HPYTC is open to childern ages 8-16 years of age. The HPYTC produces 4 musicals a year, one of which is performed at the town wide Fireworks Celebration. No experience necessary, this program introduces children to the world of theatre through improvisation, games, acting, singing and dancing. The HPYTC serves over 100 local children a year. Founded and directed by Tova Halpern, CEO and Artistic Director of Fresh Theatre Arts, LLC and musically directed by Avi Wolf.
