Arsenic and Old Lace -

Highlands Little Theatre

 Director's Note

A lot of people have asked me why I chose to do “Arsenic & Old Lace,” because my passion has always been large musical productions and I have to say, because this is one of my all-time favorite shows.  It is a classic. I remember being introduced to it when I was a child, watching the movie version starring Cary Grant with my mother. This is definitely not your typical family, but I’m sure all of us have one or two relatives that we recognize in these wonderful, quirky, (and insane) characters.  I do hope you enjoy our efforts in bringing it back to the stage at HLT. This cast has worked tirelessly on developing their characters, learning the massive amount of dialog and putting their physical labor into building this beautiful set. Major kudos to Joe LaCotti and Mike McMillian as our master builders.  Many thanks to my amazing production team, I couldn’t do any of this without them! Our cast is made up of some seasoned actors and some that are brand new to the stage. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with each of them and really appreciate all their time and talents that they have devoted to this production. And last, but definitely not the least, thank you to all the patrons for making it possible for people like me to be able to continue doing what I love!
