“Fly With the Holly” Campaign
The net proceeds of all four performances of Always…Patsy Cline will be transferred to a special fund for significant improvements to the back stage infrastructure that will greatly enhance the Holly’s theatrical productions.
The fly system in theaters refers to the systems that allow scenery to be “flown” into place and then removed during a performance. This ability allows the directors and scenic designers the capability to quickly and safely make the set changes from one scene to another for the greater enjoyment of the audience, and so that the momentum of the story is not lost while giving a different visual called for in a play or musical. The Holly, being an old movie theater, has very limited space both back stage and to the sides. We have been very creative in the use of the side platforms and set construction, but the time has come to make improvements in this critical area to take our productions to the next level.
