A special note from the Director

I am privileged and beyond thankful for the opportunity that Catalina Brand, Holy House Director, the Cathedral of Our Lady of Walsingham, and the parents of the students have given me to take on this responsibility.  When Catalina approached me in 2017 to teach a class and direct a play, my first thought was “Are you sure?”. I had zero directing experience and I had no idea what I was doing. The whole process that year was a new experience every day. By the end of the year, I thought to myself that maybe I could do this. Maybe this is where my life is meant to lead. When I was asked to return this year to teach again, I believed I had this whole directing routine down. I thought I could go from a rather basic spread of my first year with 14 students to a more complicated monster this year with 26 students. Oh. how I was wrong. As the performances got closer and closer, I felt like I was new at this all over again. Before this year, I had never designed sound, lights, or choreographed fights. If not for the support of my students who worked incredibly hard to tolerate me and pull their weight, this show would not be what is. I am beyond words that can express how grateful I am for this experience and have worked with my students. You are all truly amazing and I wish you all the best in your endeavors and where your life takes you as we part ways after the final bows are taken. Maybe one day we can work together again.
