Dear Friends of the Theater,
Welcome to our 67th Annual Theatrical Season at Honesdale High School's Performing Arts Center, with our Honesdale High School musical production of School of Rock by Andrew Lloyd Webber!
School of Rock the musical is Andrew Lloyd Webber’s award-winning smash musical based on the hilarious hit movie starring Jack Black. The film of the same title, School of Rock will feature music from the movie, as well as an original score by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyricist Glenn Slater, with a book by Julian Fellowes and direction by Laurence Connor (Broadway Les Miserables).
The musical follows Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star who decides to earn a few extra bucks by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. There he turns a class of straight-A students into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band – sensationally performed live by the production’s young actors every night with roof-raising energy!
Originally premiering on Broadway before transferring to London’s West End as well as various tours including US and UK tours, School of Rock means school is back in – forever!
Andrew Lloyd Webber's School of Rock The Musical is presented through special arrangement with Concord Theatrical and Andrew Lloyd Webber's Entertainment (formerly Really Useful Group) in the United Kingdom.
