Hood College Student Musical Theatre
was founded in the fall of 2010 by students Ashley Birdsell and William Lewis. It currently functions as an SGA-recognized student organization; Dr. Noel Verzosa of the Hood music department serves as advisor to the group.
As a primarily student-run production company, HCSMT aims to bring musical theatre to Hood and the surrounding community while providing leadership opportunities for its student performers and executive board members. HCSMT is incredibly grateful to the plethora of faculty and staff members who support our shows from start to finish. From licensing to music direction, location requests to set building, we could not succeed without them.
To remain accessible, HCSMT doesn’t charge for tickets. Our funding comes from the generosity of the Hood College Student Government Association, concession/advertisement sales, and your donations. We anticipate producing our second annual Gender-Bender Cabaret and third annual flash mob in the fall of 2013, with another full-scale musical in the spring of 2014.
If you loved “Avenue Q,” we hope you’ll consider helping us build our funds for upcoming performances, costumes, sets, and the like. Any indication of support, large or small, is appreciated.
