This is INCA Drama Club's 2nd production of the 2023/2024 School Year - and it seems hard to believe, to be honest. It feels as though this crew of blossoming thespians has worked together for YEARS and many actually just joined us this year!
In mentoring the Drama Club Officers, I continue to commend the growth I have seen just from last year to this year - the amount of work that these students are investing into building a theater program from nothing is inspiring - and a virtual one, no less!
When Allison approached me about actually writing this production you are watching, I was taken aback - it is no small feat to write a play and many playwrights I have worked with, workshop their plays for YEARS before they feel confident enough to see it through to production. Allison and Kayla's commitment to bringing this show on its feet has been apparent from day 1.
In addition, I cannot say enough about the cast and the crew - in that, EVERYONE went into this show blind. This is an original piece, written by a peer - and the amount of immediate TRUST that all cast and crew had to instantly have with each other cannot be measured. This level of trust takes YEARS to build in casts I have worked with before - this group's bond was immediate.
You have such an amazing privilege to witness the PREMIERE production of "Scandal in Whinix", by Allison & Kayla Wortman, produced by the incredibly talented INCA Drama Club.
