    Director & Playwright

    Amia Korman (they/she) is a Sophomore in the Jacobs School of Music pursuing a BSOF in Voice & Musical Theatre. After co-directing Undergrad Shorts in the AFS New Plays Festival this spring, they are ecstatic to be making their full-length playwriting & directorial debut with Nice Jewish Boy. IU Theatre credits include Schwartzy in 25th Annual... (Independent Project) and The Conspirator in The Well of Horniness (IU Mainstage). Other credits include Peter & the Starcatcher (Molly), Les Misérables (Éponine), and Mary + Max, where they originated the role of Mary in early stages at the Lincoln Center. They are currently curating their 2022 poetry collection (hypercolor) and writing Plain Lo, a theatrical exploration of the Lolita cultural universe. At IU and beyond, they hope to develop their skills as a vocalist, actor, director, composer and playwright with the goal of bringing empathy, humor and precision to the representation of LGBTQ+-identified youth.

    Lighting Designer

    So Josh is back at the lighting thing again. Josh first lighting designed Light in the Piazza and Crisis of Abundance. This time they decided to take Josh's board away and give him dimmer switches. Josh is now starting to design Lauren Diesch's production of THE BEST WE COULD (a family tragedy). Outside of lighting Josh is heavily involved in acting and stage combat, but this is about lighting.

    Ben Ballmer (he/him) is a Senior in the BFA Musical Theatre class of '22. IU Directing credits: Tick, Tick...Boom!, Stupid F*cking Bird (University Players), Circle Mirror Transformation, The Flick, Lungs, The Weir, The Last Five Years, Rabbit Hole, and The Light in the Piazza. Sound Design credits: American Idiot (UP), Triassic Parq (UP), Slip 2019 (University Players), Matt and Ben (Independent). As a writer/composer, Ben's work has been regionally and nationally recognized as a winner of the 2018 NextNotes composition workshop and a two-time semifinalist for the Blank Theatre's Young Playwrights Festival. He has no experience in puppetry.
