    Madeline Marshall

    Director

    Ms. Marshall is excited to direct ITDS’ second annual musical. Now in her 4th year at ITDS and 6th year of teaching, she has also worked as a theatre professional in the DMV and Philadelphia for 11 years. In Philly, she worked as a stage manager, director, & teaching artist with some of the most celebrated theatre companies and professionals in the country. Ms. Marshall returned to DC to continue her career as a performing arts educator and has taught in elementary, middle, and high schools. She has been a professional stage manager with Synetic Theatre (The Snow Queen & La Vida es Sueno) and Up In Your Face Theatre Company (The Last Five Years & Saucy Jack and the Space Vixens), and a director and teaching artist with the Mount Vernon Community Children’s Theatre. She received a BA in Theatre Studies and an M.Ed. in Theatre & English from Temple University. She is proud of all of her students’ hard work on Peter Pan Jr. and hopes you enjoy the show!

    Donna Kearney

    Choreographer

    Ms. Kearney, an ITDS teacher for 7 years and dance/outreach teacher for over 25, has always had a passion for dance. Her career started studying African dance under Sylvia Soumah & Mahiri Keita of Kono Youth Ensemble. She joined Daughters of Coyaba & the adult African company Coyaba Dance Theater. She has performed at the Kennedy Center, IABD, DanceAfrica festivals in South Korea and Texas. At Dance Place, she studied jazz, hip hop, step, West African, and modern dance with Carla Perlo, Founder Emeritus; she is a founding member of the Dance Place Step Team. After serving as Team Captain and choreographer, she was appointed Artistic Director in 2008. In 2016, Michelle Obama invited her students to perform at the White House to celebrate African American Women in dance with Debbie Allen. She is a member of acclaimed Illstyle & Peace Productions, Coyaba Dance Theater, Imani Dance & Drum Ensemble, and Dancers 4 Life.
