NOTES FROM THE DIRECTOR
Thank you everybody: cast, crew, fans, Patreon Supporters, colleagues, etc. for helping make this game possible. Duckified: Cosmic Legends has been in development hell for nearly three years, give or take, and I am so excited to truly begin this insane story I have planned.
Joe Duck was created in late 2017 when my mom showed me James Vietch's sketch about buying as many rubber ducks as possible and annoying his flatmates with them earlier that year. The exact same thing happened to me for April Fools of 2017, and later that year, I began writing "Duckified".
Duckified was very different in 2018. It was a poorly made comic about Joe Duck and his family getting stranded on an alien planet after being launched into space, with Joe finding his long lost twin brother isolated in the depths of said planet. That origin story, at least some version of it, still exists today, and I hope to adapt it in the future.
The original comic I drew on random notebook paper is still out there, and I still have a copy (with only 2/3 of the story).
I love Duckified with all my heart. It's helped me through some of the worst times of my life, and I want to spread Joe's message of light, empathy, and self-expression. He is my symbol and JX's mascot. I cannot thank Branden Floyd enough for helping bring this character to life. Joe Duck is a symbol of spreading light, even when it seems impossible. He isn't a perfect character, not by any means, but he always wants to do what's just and always strives to help teach people, not hurt them.
Joe is a symbol of holding empathy and forgiveness in your heart, not hate.
Joe is a symbol of being yourself, expressing your true colours, and living your life how you want to live it regardless of what other people think.
