Debbie Prost, Producer/Director
Debbie graduated from the University of Central Arkansas with a BA in Theatre Arts. She also holds a master’s degree in Secondary Education from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. This is Debbie’s 22nd year teaching theatre and she has been the director at Johns Creek for the past 16 years. Before moving to Georgia, Debbie taught middle and high school theatre in Phoenix, Arizona and North Little Rock, Arkansas. Debbie has thoroughly enjoyed her time collaborating with Allison Polaski and Brennen Blotner (the dream team!) Debbie could never handle this job and stay somewhat sane without the support of her husband, David, and her adult children Ian and Mallory. She is also incredibly thankful for all the wonderful parent volunteers, and she feels truly blessed to work with this talented, kind and inclusive group of student actors and technicians. This will be Debbie’s last time to direct a production at JCHS as she is retiring at the end of this school year. (see more about this in her director’s notes)
Allison Polaski, Choreographer
Allison Polaski, a New Jersey native, began her lifelong love of the performing arts on stages in both school and community theater productions. She studied dance under the direction of Gertrude Wyle and continued her training at Montclair State University and St. Leo University, where she toured as a member of the St. Leo Dance Company. Allison went on to share her passion for dance as the owner and director of Applause Dance Studio in New Jersey for seven years and later served as Director of Dance at Allstar Dance Studio in Johns Creek for 11 years. Throughout her career, she has choreographed more than 50 musical productions at schools including Centennial High School, Chattahoochee High School, Autrey Mill Middle School, and Johns Creek High School. She also had the privilege of directing Bye Bye Birdie and South Pacific at Chattahoochee High School. Her choreography has extended into the community through work with the Chattahoochee Players, Johns Creek Players, and Theatre 5230. Allison has been nominated for a Shuler Award for Best Choreography for Once Upon a Mattress and The Addams Family, and received honorable mention recognition for her choreography in Big Fish and The Little Mermaid. Beyond the stage, Allison holds a master’s degree in special education from Liberty University and currently serves as an Assistant Principal at Findley Oaks Elementary School in Johns Creek. Her newest and most treasured role is being a grandmother, a joy that now takes center stage in her life. After choreographing more than 50 musical productions, Allison is taking her final bow and hanging up her dance shoes at the end of this year. None of these opportunities would have been possible without the unwavering love and support of her husband, David, and her children, Christopher, Emily, and Samantha.
