Johns Creek High School

 Farewell

A note from Mrs. Polaski

Dance and musical theatre have been woven into my life for as long as I can remember. I stopped counting after choreographing more than 50 productions, but what I will always remember are the incredible students, the dedicated directors, and the magic that happens when a group of people come together to tell a story through music and movement. I was lucky enough to share the stage journey with my own children over the years, which made this experience even more meaningful. My love for this art form began with my mother, who choreographed musicals and brought me to rehearsals from the time I was little, I performed in my first musical in third grade and have been involved in theatre ever since I was eight years old. It was also shaped by the training and mentorship I received from Mr. and Ms. Wylie in Linden, New Jersey, who gave me the foundation, passion, and lifelong love for dance that guided my entire journey. Being part of musical theatre, whether performing or choreographing, has brought immeasurable joy to my life. I was especially honored to serve as the choreographer at Johns Creek High School when the school opened in 2009 and to help bring 17 productions to life on that stage. Working alongside Debbie Prost has been one of the greatest privileges of my career. Her vision, artistry, and heart for students are truly extraordinary. So often, we could begin a sentence and the other would finish it, completely aligned in bringing each show to life. I will deeply miss collaborating with her and, most of all, the talented students who made every rehearsal and performance unforgettable.  As I say during rehearsal, always give 200%!
