Disney's The Little Mermaid - November 15 - November 17, 2018

Jordan-Matthews High School

 End Notes

When we decided to produce "Disney's The Little Mermaid," we knew the high expectations that go along with any Disney show, especially one as loved as this one! We held auditions last spring, and spent much of the summer planning how to make this show come alive for our community.

Our students and creative team have risen to every challenge, putting in countless hours rehearsing and working on costumes and sets. Our PTSA has helped us buy more headset microphones and supported our sequin habit as we have costumed almost fifty cast members!

A special moment was when we held Breakfast with Ariel and Friends for almost 100 super-fans of all the Little Mermaid characters, and our students pitched in to make this a wonderful experience for children in our community!

We were fortunate again this year to have Jessica Nunn as our director. Ms. Nunn is the founder of the Phoenix Theatre Company, and is also a proud graduate of Jordan-Matthews.

A special delight has been the addition of ten students from our area feeder schools as our Junior Ensemble! It's been great to see our older students take them under their wings--or is it fins?--and truly make them a part of our world.

We appreciate the patience of parents, employers and teachers during the two months of rehearsals, and please know being part of a musical builds confidence, collaboration and problem solving skills that will make our cast and crew better employees, students, and people.

Now, join us where life is the bubbles, and escape from chilly November to a musical adventure under the sea!
