Into the Woods
The Brothers Grimm hit the stage with an epic fairytale about wishes, family and the choices we make in INTO THE WOODS, the timeless, modern classic by theater legends James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim.
The Baker and his wife wish to have a child. Cinderella wishes to attend the King's Festival. And Jack wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone's wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later — with disastrous results.
INTO THE WOODS is one of Sondheim’s most popular works — a timeless, musically sophisticated dark comedy that received the Tony Award for Best Book and Best Score.
This wise and beautiful work resonates with the challenges of human relationships, from a couple longing for a child to a girl wishing for the excitement of a festival to the worry of a mother who's not ready to see her child grow up and leave her.
But in spite of the witches and curses and giants, the show ends in hope, with the reminder that:
You are not alone.
Believe me.
No one is alone.
Thank you for joining us on our journey Into the Woods!
