The Comedy of Errors - November 08

KIPP DC College Prep

 Acknowledgements

The Comedy of Errors owes so much to so many incredible people.

I'm grateful for the tradition of KCP having a fall Shakespeare play, which was Lelac Almagor's brainchild back in 2016. I'll never understand why watching the musical Grease made her decide that Romeo & Juliet was a natural next step, but the school is better for it.

Caity Schneeman inspires students (and me) every day with her endless commitment to creativity and excellence. She is somehow inexhaustible, supportive, and demanding--this production, the theatre department, and this school owes so much to her. Also, always, thanks for the tea.

Donna Preskill swooped in like how Shakespeare ends his comedies: suddenly, she made everything work out. She has probably memorized every line in the play, and is certainly responsible for it being memorized. I'm thankful for your extensive family history in theatre and Shakespeare, absurd amounts of patience, and bona fide wisdom.

Thanks to all members of the KIPP DC team and family who have contributed in so many ways: Andhra Lutz for administrative support; Jessica Gray and Lavonya Hammond for operations support; DNS for technical support; Daphne Kiplinger for design support and posters; Scooter Ward and Keon Toyer for the incredible new speakers and microphones(!); and of course the KCP security and custodial teams.

Robby Braun makes me grateful every day. Thanks for supporting this play, the cast, and me in so many different ways.

Finally: thanks so much to the families of the cast and crew for their support and generosity during the late nights and memorization sessions. We owe so much to your flexibility and support.

Opa!
