The Scottsboro Boys - May 22 - May 26, 2019

Kenosha Unified School District

A Note from the Musical Director

(continued from previous page)

Chris Carter - I am deeply appreciative of the careful and considerate work you have done with our young thespians to render this important and resonant piece for our Kenosha community. David, Denzel and Braxton - your energy, humor and zest for the show has made this process a moment we will treasure for years to come. Parents and Parent Coordinators - it has been inspiring to have you involved with the process of bringing The Scottsboro Boys to the stage from the beginning of our rehearsals to the work you are doing to support every aspect of our process this evening. Dr. Sue Savaglio-Jarvis, Scott Plank, Kim Fischer, Adam Sulko and Jill Schwenzen - it is a gift to work in a district that understands the importance of telling stories that reflect the vibrant and beautiful culture that is Kenosha. Jodi, Christi, Wally, Walter, Eric, Mare, Terry, Kristen and our orchestra - we would not be on this stage without you. John Prignano, Drew Cohen and Music Theatre International - your vision, commitment, and passion for educational theatre lead the industry and we are fortunate to have your wind beneath our wings.

Finally, I would like to acknowledge the work of our nine young actors and our student technicians who have worked so hard and so diligently to understand and own this story and to bring it so fully to the stage. These weeks in rehearsal and these nights in performance will be with me and inform my thoughts and actions forever.
