Omigod you guys - what an incredibly fun show I've had the honor of directing this year! I'm so lucky to have the support and resources available to me here at Kilmer Middle School. I have so much in fact that I know that I will forget something or someone, and to that I am so sorry. Please know that every bit of help and every encouraging word was appreciated. With that being said ...
- First and foremost I would like to say thank you to all the parents of all the cast and crew members - thank you so much for your support. Having a student in the musical entails so much - dropping off and picking students up from rehearsals, purchasing shoes and costume pieces, providing items off of our wishlists, volunteering to help with tickets/the program/supervision, and most importantly, supporting your student at home while they learned their songs and lines. Your support means the world not only to me, but to your students as well. I don't have enough space to thank each of you individually, but if I did, I would. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much.
- Mr. Kevin Sapp and Mr. Ahmad Maaty for being the best co-directors in the world!
- Mr. Martin Garfield-Levine for teaching our students Irish Dance.
- Mr. Mike Kunzer - building sets together since 2014!! Thank you for your creativity, dedication, and passion bringing our sets to life. "Don't hate me, but ..."
- Mr. Mark Whelen - thank you for all the hardware store runs and taking things home to build and paint. Your help ensured we got this set done on time!
- Ms. Jenna Heleen - thank you for these beautiful costumes. Once again, you blew it out of the park and I am utterly in awe of your talents.
- "The Saturday Morning Crew" - any parent that came on a Saturday morning to help build and paint. This show would not have come together fast enough without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
- KMS Administration and the FCPS School Board - thank you for your support of the theatre program.
- The entire custodial staff for their help and understanding during our crazy busy Saturdays!
- My friends and family for always being there for me, loving me, and tolerating me when I get into "show mode".
Lastly, and perhaps most importantly - thank you to my cast and crew. They worked so hard to bring this together, and I am so proud of them. All of the long hours and stress is worth it to see them shine on and off stage.
Like I said, I am certain that in this space I have forgotten somebody. Please know that I appreciate each and every one of you for making this production possible.
Humbly,
Nikisha Kozik
