NOTES FROM THE DIRECTOR
I am immensely proud of our Kolbe production of "Just Another High School Play." The dedication and talent of our cast, the ingenuity of our technical crew, and the unwavering support from our Performing Arts Team have been truly outstanding. A truly successful production extends beyond what is seen on stage; it is a profound artistic and personal journey for everyone involved. I am especially proud of the spirit of cooperation, mutual respect, commitment, and the extraordinary teamwork demonstrated by every single person. These students have gracefully set aside individual aspirations, realizing that whether they had one line or fifty, whether they were in the spotlight or diligently working backstage, the pride and success of this accomplishment are shared by all.
I would like to extend my deepest gratitude and thanks to the Kolbe Catholic College community, our supportive parents, staff, and friends for their invaluable involvement and encouragement.
To our amazing Year 12s – it’s always a bittersweet moment watching your final performance. I am so incredibly proud of the growth and talent I've witnessed in many of you over these past years. It’s hard to imagine the stage without you.
-
Ryley – Ryley is the one who always has a “brilliant” idea for every scene—if only the director had a mute button! You never fail to make me laugh.
-
Owen – Stepping into the lighting role and mastering it so quickly is a testament to your brilliance. I now crown you Sir Shine - a - Lot, Kolbe's Lord of lights.
-
Judd – From music to sound, your technical leadership and courage to step out of your comfort zone are truly inspiring. Judd you are set to be Mr Smooth.
-
Kyle – The Announcer came alive with your creative touches. It took until year 12 to get you into one of my cast's but proof that holding out was worth the wait!
-
Ollie– Your dedication and positive energy brighten every rehearsal. Ollie, your growth in performing arts has been a joy to watch, from Christian drama to never forgetting the infamous hole in the floor!
-
Duncan– Your enthusiasm for performing is infectious and shines brightly on stage. Nevering missing a beat—you can play any role and pulls off a dress and wig with effortless style and charm.
-
Oscar– Last but not least, the Drama Captain who brings energy and inspiration to every stage—though we’re still waiting for him to find a silver lining in ANY scene! Whether he’s leading warm-ups, playing impro games or warning us all it’ll probably rain during tech rehearsal, Oscar keeps things real, memorable, and always a little bit “Mr Negative.”
To all cast and crew and the amazing Performing Arts Team– every one of you has contributed uniquely to this magic. Thank you for your hard work, your passion, and for bringing this play to life. It has been an absolute laugh to direct you all.
