Nunsense - January 14 - January 15, 2017

Lago Vista High School

 End Notes

Wow!

What a thrill to see "Nunsense" come to life at Lago Vista High School - it has been a dream of mine since I was a kid performing to one day be on this side of the stage, and the last two and a half years at LVHS has made that dream a reality. I am beyond proud of every single student on this stage - you may not know, but many of these kids have NEVER been in a musical, some of them have NEVER been on stage, and MOST of them have NEVER danced (especially TAPPED) before! What they have accomplished is tremendous - it leaves me (nearly) speechless!

I want to give a few shout outs to people who have helped me tremendously this season:

To my current students- Thank you for being so flexible and adaptive this year. During a time in my life where so much has changed, I am beyond grateful for your dedication not only to the show, but to me. I love you all and am so, so, SO proud of what you have accomplished. This show was no easy undertaking, and I am thrilled with what you have done with the first full length musical in LVHS history!

To my former students – Teaching theatre gives me a unique opportunity to form deep connections with students – it has never been more true than of this year. In particular: Andrew C, Jake, Darby, and River - I love you all and I thank you for not only coming back to visit & critique i.e. whip these kids into shape (J), but also for being there for my family this year. You all bring me so much joy!

To Jade Simms- Thank you for everything. You are my right hand, my sidekick, my number one girl! You have been right there with me – whether it is during school, at rehearsal, or at my house helping make my kids Halloween costumes at a really difficult time for us, I know that I can always, always count on you. I will miss you so much next year – I cannot even talk about. I love you to the moon!

To the faculty and staff of LVISD & the Community of Lago Vista - Without your support, this production could not have happened. I appreciate all of you for believing in LVHS Performing Arts, and for supporting arts education for our students. In a time where Arts Education is consistently the first thing to be pushed to the side, we are grateful! In addition, thank you for your support of me and my family this year – we are grateful to live and work and play in such a beautiful town, full of so many wonderful people.

To the Parents of Cast & Crew - Thank you for your commitment to your kids and the success of the show. It takes a lot of support for our students to succeed and we thank you!

To Ami, PawPi, Mama Sue, Krissy, and Mom- Thank you for EVERYTHING you do for Hudson, Finn, and me. We could not have managed the past few months without you. You all are so loved & appreciated – I hope you know that!

To Hudson & Finn - Thank you for giving up your mommy for all of these nights of rehearsals - you are the real stars and I love you very much! Being the family of a theatre director is rough and I appreciate your sacrifice every day.

To Kathryn Zaremba - I have no words to express how thankful I am for you and everything that you have done to help me with not only this production – but with life. You are my person and I could not manage without you – Thank you. I love you.

And finally...to Jared and Jessica. I love you and miss you every single day.

Thank you all for attending the show and supporting LVHS Performing Arts! Please follow us on Facebook: Lago Vista High School Theatre and keep up with us!

Many Smiles, Elisabeth Hunter
