From the Director
Welcome to Lake Creek‘s new Black Box Theater. As an alternative to the accustomed proscenium theatre, the Black Box provides flexibility and an intimate theatre experience. The physical arrangement of the performance space dictates the staging techniques used. The surround seating gives advantage to each audience member, challenging both director and actor to provide diverse staging angles. The Black Box acting method, created by Meisner, trains actors to: live fully under imaginary circumstances and to work from a place of honesty and vulnerability. As the actors move honestly in their imaginary world, they invite you to let your creativity take wing in this exploratory venue.
There are many people who work together to make a successful performance. Much applause is to be given to our parents, LCHS Theatre Booster Club, former Theatre graduates, MISD and LCHS administration as well as generous benefactors.
