Cherie has worked in the field of theatre since 1993 as a teacher, director and costume designer. She has owned and operated arts programs and worked in higher education program management and marketing. She received her degree from the University of Houston. Her design credits include Katrina the Bridge, Big Love, The Importance of Being Earnest, As You Like It, among many others.

Iza Scott is 17 years old. She is completing her senior year of high school through online courses, before furthering her education in the Performing Arts. A Kind of Alaska is her first performance with Lamar University, playing the now awoken Deborah of Harold Pinter's play.

Maddie Hightower

Maddy Hightower is a sophomore psychology major from Port Neches. This is her second show to perform in at Lamar. She played as Gretchen in Boeing-Boeing last fall. Maddy is very excited to take on this role as it is very different compared to what she has done in the past.

Michael Saar

A Kind of Alaska marks Michael Saar's debut performance with the Lamar University Department of Theatre and Dance. Michael is originally from Buffalo, New York before arriving in Beaumont where he is an Associate Professor in the library. Michael continues to be heavily involved with the local theatre scene as a director and actor and is a member of Beaumont Community Players board of directors. R
