Synopsis
Beneath the glass dome of a futuristic alien base called The Bubble, Jo lives in a world dominated by technology, fear, and Artificial Intelligence. Feeling out of place in the insulated, conformist society, he embarks on a transformative journey, uncovering hidden truths and seeking self-discovery. Jo and the Gigalytes merges science fiction, mystery, and adventure, weaving in themes of exploration, acceptance, and courage. It inspires audiences of all ages to embrace their individuality and bravely face the unknown.
Awards
One of the songs from Jo & the Gigalytes, "Be Brave, Be Bold," won the 2024 UK Songwriting Contest in the Olympic category (contest winning version features slightly different lyrics). The song has also been nominated for Social Impact Song of the Year at the 2024 Josie Music Awards.
Original soundtrack
The soundtrack for Jo & the Gigalytes, featuring the LAPA original cast, is being released on June 7, 2024 and will be available on Spotify, Apple Music, and all digital music platforms. Creators Jason Spraggins and Matt Glickstein plan on publishing the show and licensing it to schools and community theaters across the country and around the world.
**LAPA recognizes the use of diacritical markings of the (modern) Hawaiian language including the okina and the kahako. However, the limitations of the Playbill software cause the markings to be omitted.
