NOTES FROM THE DIRECTOR, BRUCE BECKER:
Welcome to Lawrence Orr Elementary’s second major Production of a Musical. We know you are going to enjoy this production of SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK LIVE! JR.
I have a few (or many) thank yous before we begin.
- Thank you to every teacher and staff member in our building for all your encouragement and support from the moment I started working here last year at Lawrence Orr Elementary School. Everyone embraced me with open arms, and have been welcoming!
- Thank you to our Cafeteria Manager, Ms. Tia, who fed the students at all rehearsals, and a dinner the night of our show.
- Our wonderful PTA who has supported this afterschool program by purchasing the musical, helping with ad page and ticket sales, and so much more. Please join our PTA so we can have a bigger and better musical every year.
- All the teachers and staff for coming out at night and helping with the musical.
- I appreciate Mr. Harmon staying late several days and helping with dismissal. He also assisted with producing the Playbill ads and helping with some printing
- A special thank you to Ms. Evans for starting a ART Club and designing the T-shirt, backdrops and props (which was A LOT!)
- Ms. Larkins, the assistant director, choregrapher and so much more.
- A special thank you to Mrs. Dates and Darlenys who started a week ago to help with the spot lights.
- Thank you to all the parents, friends and family who drove students early, came after school to pick them up, worked with your child at home and showed amazing support.
- And my final thank you goes to the students who trusted me and auditioned back in October. They have been working so hard with little complaints (I wanted to say they never complain, but we know the truth.) They are wonderful and I am proud to have worked with them to put on this production.
- Thank you to all the schools and theaters who lent us props and costumes. Queen's Grant Community School (Molly Schultz - Music and Theater Teacher) and Spotlight Performing Arts Academny (Angela Gordan-Mills - Owner and Director)
NOTES FROM THE ART DIRCTOR, SHAJANA EVANS:
To my Creatives Club:
I want to thank the Creatives Team who have worked so hard to make the show a success. You have designed, dawn, painted, and worked as the technical crew throughout the program; showing your dedication and skills as artist. I could not have done it without you!
Keep Creating!
