Lucky Stiff - April 23 - April 25, 2021

Leechburg Area School District

 Director's Note

Lucky Stiff is a show that everyone in the theatre community has done at least once in their career!

It is a silly little production that just makes you laugh and escape reality for a little while. Many find it relatable because we all have a little bit of each of the characters in ourselves. Personally, I identify with Annabel because she is a bit of a nerd and control freak... and who doesn't love dogs?! (Shhh... don't tell my cats!)

While I've never had the chance to play her, I have had the opportunity to direct this gem of a musical ten years ago for a collaborative project with Penn State New Kensington and the New Kensington Civic Theatre! Our own Vocal Coach, Josh List, played the role of Harry Witherspoon and we had a blast! Little did I know, this production would be a turning point in my life as I met my husband, Jesse, while he was playing in the pit orchestra.

After the whirlwind that was Godspell, we knew we needed to bring our audiences something light-hearted. And while we had hoped things would look a little different, we are incredibly thankful for the opportunity to perform for the second time this year.

To my Seniors, I wish I could ask you to stay! I've watched you grow from little stenographers and bouncers to strong-willed, gun-wielding forces of nature. You know I appreciate your humor and tenacity and I wish you nothing but the best as you take the world by storm.

To the rest of the cast, You. Are. Troopers! Two tech weeks and two production runs are no small feat and you have proven time and time again what you are capable of accomplishing. I can't wait to see what the future holds.

All My Love,

Mrs. Walls
