Real Life: A 25 Year Musical Anniversary - January 25 - January 27, 2018

Legacy VAPA high School

 End Notes

Notes from the Director

I am grateful to the cast and crew for being a part of this production. Although times did get tough we always headed forward in stride and that is what theatre is all about, perseverance. After directing many professional plays like The Devil and Billy Markham, by Shel Silverstein and Tartuffe, by Molière. It was refreshing working on a new play written and acted by students. I am grateful for all of you attending the show and I hope you enjoy the show.

Notes from the Composer/Producer

This has been such a wonderful experience! The opportunity to bring the joy of the Real Life Experience to an entirely new group of young people and community was wonderful and, in many ways, not unlike time-travel for me! I can't help thinking about Christy when Jessica performs her monologue and sings her solo from the original show and I can say the same about the other scenes from the 1993 or 1995 version of Real Life at Huntington Park High School. I am excited we are able to have some of the oroiginal cast members in atendance at the show! And the new group of actor-singer-writers from VAPA are spectacular. Thank you so much for your dedication, your talent, and your courage to share your stories with us all. You inspire me, you motivate me, and you push me to be a better educator, better musiucian, and a better person.

Thank you to my family, my wife, Moira, and our kids, Xander, Olivia, Nick, and Jessica and their families for their support.
