First Daughter Suite originally premiered at The Public Theater in 2015.  The Public Theater is a Non-Profit, Off-Broadway, Theater company in New York City that is dedicated to creating and producing works of up and coming playwrights and unique new experiences.  Also produced at the Public Theater in 2015 was the hit Hamilton.  Liahona Preparatory Academy is the first organization granted the rights to perform this unique new musical since it's run Off-Broadway in 2015. Unless you were in New York City during the shows original sold-out 3 month run, you have not nor likely will not have an opportunity to see this show anywhere!

The original Off-Broadway Production starred Tony winner Rachel Bay Jones (Dear Evan Hansen), Tony Nominees Alison Fraser (Secret Garden), Mary Testa (Oklahoma!), Barbara Walsh (Falsettos) and the original Elsa on Broadway Caissie Levy (Frozen).  We are thrilled for our students to be able to perform these roles originated by these iconic actresses.  When asked about  the Liahona premiere, two-time Tony Award nominee Mary Testa said, "Those girls are going to have an amazing time. That show was one of my favorite experiences. Wish them luck for me." 

The original production was nominated for 7 Drama Desk Awards including being the only musical not playing on Broadway nominated for Best New Musical alongside Waitress, Shuffle Along and School of Rock.
