Shrek The Musical - November 09 - November 11, 2017

Little Chute High

 End Notes

Note from the Director:

Every program has its own culture, its own identity; that thing that draws people in to want to be a part of it. At Little Chute, our culture has always centered around an emphasis on family and creating a sense of belonging in each member of the program. With that in mind, Shrek is an extremely appropriate show for this program to present. At the center of this loveable story is the idea that each and every one of us is unique and special in our own way, and that the intricacies that make us who we are should be celebrated rather than shunned.

Furthermore, this show was chosen because it's one of the larger productions ever put on in Little Chute, and, as a result, more members of the family are being called to take a more active role than ever before. From our set crew to our set artists to our makeup artists and so on, this show is pushing us to work harder and be better than we've ever had to be. That pursuit of growth has been both very frustrating and very rewarding, and we hope you can see the results of that growth on stage tonight.

Lastly, I just want to take a moment and express how grateful and blessed I feel to get to spend time with such a great group of students. Since the very beginning of this production, I have seen so many of these fine young people make great sacrifices to try and help make this show the best it could possibly be. From carpooling out to Dale to pick up set pieces to staying late or coming early to paint sets, this group of students has really been committed to the process of this show. Special thanks definitely deserves to go out to my Stage Manager, Abby Kramer, who served as the glue that connected all aspects of this production, and stepped up to do absolutely anything and everything at anytime (include listening to me rant on more than one occasion) in order to make this production as good as it could be.

On behalf of the entire production staff, I want to say how very proud I am of everyone in this cast, the people that they've shown themselves to be, and the performance they will give for you tonight. Enjoy the show!
