Love Your City Theater

 DIRECTOR'S NOTES

What an adventure the last three months have been!  Launching Love Your City Theater and putting together the fantastic musical "Annie" could not have been done without the support and sacrifice of so many.

The enthusiam that the City of Cedar Hill has expressed toward the formation of this theater has been encouraging to us every step of the way.  It is our hope that Love Your City Theater would reflect the passion, vision and generous heart of this great city.

Cedar Hill High School, and particularly Peter Ward, thank you for helping with orchestra auditions and opening Cedar Hill High School Band Hall for orchestra practices.  We look forward to expanding our relationship in the future.

Trinity Church, thank you for donating the use of your facilites for three months of auditions and rehearsals.  What a blessing for a start up community theater to be hosted in such a fabulous location!  We are honored.

To the cast, crew and orchestra: Wow!  We did it and it is amazing.  You are truly some of the most talented, gifted people we have ever had the priviledge of working alongside.  The fact that some of you auditioned on a whim still takes my breath away because you are all amazingly gifted, and yet so humble.  The level of professionalism and commitment demonstrated by eveyone associated with this theater is worth bragging about!  But most of all, thank you for profoundly touching our lives with your constant encouragement, mutual respect and cooperation.  You all embody the heart and mission of Love Your City Theater.  Thank you for using your talents to not only expand the arts in our community, but to raise much needed awareness and funds for two very deserving charities, Bridges Safeouse and Hope Mansion.

We would also like to thank Bethany Shay, Bethany Baskin, Bethany Scribner, Debbie Durling, Angela Phelps, Cynthia Gonzalez, John Toshach, the cast members, parents, vocal coaches and volunteers that have gone above and beyond since May with administrative assistance, phone calls, ticket sales, organization, distribution, late night meetings and more.  It is because of you that we have arrived at this place with such ease and grace.  Your involvement has been invaluable to both Susan and I.

And to Susan, what can I say but thank you.  I have discovered over the course of these three months that when I first approached you to come on this journey with me, I only knew a fraction of the talent and gifts inside you.  You have a unique mix of extreme creativity and organization that I am constantly astounded by.  Your ability to assess potential train-wrecks has saved me countless times!  I have deeply enjoyed collaborating and creating with you.  It is a privilege to watch you lead musicians and singers with such poise.  THANK YOU for all you have done to make this such an incredible success.   *Roses and spanish coins*

And to think, we are just getting started!  Enjoy the show!

With a full heart,

Crysti Robertson
