Disney's Beauty and the Beast - October 25 - November 10, 2024

Lovegood Performing Arts Company

 DIRECTOR'S NOTE

Transformation stories captivate me. Every good narrative has an arc, but there’s something magical about stories where characters go through complete, unexpected transformations. I’m reminded of films like Miss Congeniality, where a frumpy FBI agent becomes a beauty queen finalist, or The Sandlot, where a nerdy new kid learns the game of baseball and the value of friendship through countless mistakes that lead to triumphant victories.

We’ve all been there - facing moments where we feel out of place, unsure of what’s next, or even like we’re not good enough. Whether it’s finding new friends, discovering hidden strengths, or overcoming a personal challenge, we each have our own story of transformation. And that’s exactly what makes Disney’s Beauty and the Beast so relatable. At its core, it’s not just about a beast’s journey to love and redemption—it’s about all of us. It reminds us that even when we feel like we’re at our worst, change is possible, and beauty can be found where we least expect it.
