The Wizard of Oz (RSC 1987) - April 28 - April 30, 2017

Lowell High School

 End Notes

The Wizard of Oz has been quite the undertaking and I wouldn't have been able to get this production up to the level it is without the help of many people.  Firstly, Dr. Sharon Clark for taking on the huge job of Playbill creator, orchestra finder and publicity.  Without her help I could not get the staging, singing or dancing ready.  Thanks to Dave Keefe for taking care of the orchestra and spending his vacation with me and the kids in the auditorium practing all week.  To Brian Scanlon and Andy White for making such incredible sets. A special thank you to students Molly DeLorenzo and Cody Martin for doing all of the jobs no one else would do. Finally to my husband Greg and daughter Rahni for giving up their time with me so that I could make this production happen. This cast has been working hard together and they are very excited to perform for you this weekend.  I hope that this experience will give them a lifelong appreciation of the arts and many wonderful memories of their time at Lowell High School.

Mrs. B

This is without a doubt the most ambitious musical production we have undertaken. I'm very proud of all the students who have worked so hard to prepare for this show. Many many thanks to our new choral/theater teacher, Mrs. Bussiere, who has helped so many LHS students realize their full potential. To Mr. James Lutz Jr. and Susan Antolini for their musical expertice and talents joining us in the orchestra this year. We are lucky to have such talented faculty! To the Fine Arts Department for all their assistance with photos, graphics, changing classroom spaces, etc., and for always being willing to lend a hand.

It takes a collaborative effort to make a production like this happen. We thank Mr. Martin and Amy McLeod for their constant support of the Fine Arts, the faculty and staff for supporting and encouraging all the LHS artists, the security and custodial staff for their assistance and keeping up with our crazy nights, weekends and vacations schedule and to all the parents and families for supporting their children in their artistic endeavors.

As Dorothy Gale sings in Somewhere Over the Rainbow, "...and the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true".

Congratulations to all!

Dr. Clark
