Lyndhurst Middle School

 End Notes

Whenever we embark on a journey to production there are many questions that we ask ourselves. Is it appropriate for our students? Will it be a fun yet challenging journey? Does our talent fit the show? When we answer these questions the production process begins. Curtains! was a perfect fit for us, many roles, comedic edge, and a fun ending. It also has the "show within a show" concept which has always appealed to me. Our cast was challenged to bring these characters to life in a realistic way and met that challenge. They worked very hard and were introduced to acting techniques that were new to them. I am so grateful to have had this group to work with. They were tenacious and persevered through some challenging times, sick cast members, rehearsals that were cancelled and moved for different reasons, and the challenge of double casting. When it was time to step up, they did. We have a mantra that we use in warm-ups: "All things good and accomplished in this world-take work!" and work they did. I want to thank my Co-Director Maria Maloupis for being a wonderful partner (especially doing the things I don't like :)) and making this production as strong as possible. I hope you enjoy the show!
