 Creative Team Bios 

Jen Jaynes (she/her) (Parody This! Director / MacGuffin Theatre & Film Company Associate Artistic Director) Jen is a graduate of Kutztown University (2007) with a bachelor’s degree in Vocal Music Performance and holds a Master’s in Theatre from Villanova University. At MacGuffin, Jen teaches various classes and age groups at the Philadelphia MacGuffin location and also MacGuffin's suburban program in Fort Washington. After completing her undergraduate studies at Kutztown Univeristy, she apprenticed with Touchstone Theatre in Bethlehem, PA, where she honed her skills in clowning, the Le Coq method, and creating original ensemble works. Jen has been an active performer with Without a Cue Productions for over 18 years, an interactive theatre company where she has written, performed, directed, and served as Director of Business Development. In 2009, she co-founded High Dramma, Philadelphia’s premier sketch comedy troupe, where she had a blast both acting and writing. At MacGuffin, Jen has directed numerous productions, including She Kills Monsters, Wicked, Legally Blonde Jr., Annie Jr., High School Musical, Shrek the Musical Jr., Descendants, and High School Musical 2. She also leads MacGuffin's comedy improv troupe, This Side Up. Jen lives in Manayunk with her husband Brandon, stepson Oliver two parakeets, and a school of over 50 guppies. She is incredibly grateful to all of the cast members of Parody This for their committment, open-heartedness, and willingness to be goofy! 

 

Joey Schulman (she/her)(Parody This! Production ManagerArtistic & Administrative Assistant) Joey earned her degree in Theatre History and Performance Texts from Marymount Manhattan College. Throughout her career, she has worked in a wide range of roles, including director, dramaturg, actor, choreographer, stage manager, seamstress, and writer. She has directed and written productions for inner-city public schools in Washington, DC, and dramaturged several projects during her undergraduate years. Now in her third year at MacGuffin, she is deeply grateful to the MacGuffin community, as well as Jen, John, and Liz, for their continued support, which has given her the opportunity to create, inspire, and grow both as an artist and as a person. She is grateful to the Parody This cast for making her laugh these past few months. The world is a brighter place with them in it! Love to Eli and her cat, Machiavelli, for their unwavering support and devotion.

 

Patrick Greene (Parody This! playwright) is the author of I Quit, Masterclasses, Instructions for Hugs, A Talkback (Stage Partners), and Brief Interviews with Internet Cats (Playscripts). He is the co-author of This Murder Was Staged, Parody This!, Two Chairs and a Lie, How (Not) to Be A Wizard, Quest!, Rogues' Gallery (Stage Partners), The Alibis, A Simpler Time, Scared Silly, Around the World in 8 Plays, The Very UnMerry Adventures of Robin Hood, The Edgar Allan Poe Afterlife Radio Show,(Playscripts) as well as the musical Our Christmas Carol. (Broadway Licensing). He lives in New York City.

 

Brendan Main (Parody This! playwright)is a playwright who lives in Ontario, Canada, with his wife, three kids, four cats, an axolotl, and a dog. He writes sketch comedy revues, radio dramas, and interactive murder mysteries, as well as theatre for young audiences.

 

Jason Pizzarello Parody This! playwright)i ​is a playwright and Co-founder of Stage Partners with director/writer Morgan Gould. His plays have produced/developed with Veterans Repertory Theater, Everyday Inferno Theatre Company, Blue Rider/Classic Stage Company, 3-Legged Dog, Soho Rep Writer/Director Lab, Irondale Ensemble, HERE Arts Center, Clubbed Thumb, and Source Festival (DC), and many others. Over forty of his plays for young actors are published and have been produced in all 50 states and over 20 countries. When he’s not writing, he proudly serves as a logistics officer with the New York Army National Guard but reports directly to his two young daughters in Connecticut.
