Disney's The Little Mermaid JR. - April 26 - April 29, 2018

Madison Southern High School

 End Notes

From the Director:

Wow! What can I say? As a theatre director, I am always proud of what my students accomplish, but I have been overwhelmed at the level of dedication and hard work our cast and crew has put in on this show. All of our productions are student centered, but The Little Mermaid truly is a student run production. From the costume concepts to the stage sets to the blocking and choreography to the management of the show backstage - they have done it all. I could not be more pleased or more proud to be their theatre momma, and I am blessed to have known each and every student. I am grateful to have had an impact on each of their lives, as they have impacted mine in ways I could have never imagined. These young women and young men are talented performers, born leaders, thoughtful friends to one another, and a family to each and all. Nothing makes a teacher, especially a teacher/director, happier than to know that her students are not only gifted and skilled in their craft, but they are champions to each other and to other theatre students across the state and country. I am grateful to be placed with these students each day, and I look forward to working with our underclassmen for more years to come.

For my seniors, I wish you this:

You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition. You can't get there by bus, only by hard work and risk and by not quite knowing what you're doing, but what you'll discover will be wonderful. What you'll discover will be yourself.

Be bold, be true, be wonderful, be kind, but most of all -- BE YOU! And most importantly, remember you always have a home here.

Much Love and Deepest Respect to You All,
Mrs. Cates
