Freaky Friday - April 25 - April 27, 2024

Maricopa High School

 Director's Note

Freaky Friday is a beautiful title for this show as the rehearsal process, and everything that went into this show, was very "freaky" to say the least. Having to postpone the show due to so many actors being sick was not an easy decision. However, the students have shown their resilience and have only come back from our minor setback stronger than ever! I am so incredibly proud of this cast and all they have endured to get that curtain to rise on opening night. I hope you embrace the craziness with us as we all take a moment to walk in someone else's shoes for the next couple hours.

Freaky Friday has a message that I absolutely adore. We can never truly understand or think we know someone unless we were to become them for a day. Social media gets all the good, but life is full of the good, the bad, and the ugly. Walking a day in someone else's shoes would help us as humans open our eyes to the things in others lives that we could never possibly understand. This show's message reminds us to take a moment and at least try to see life through the eyes of those around us as we can't actually switch bodies for a day. Taking the time to see others perspectives can make the world, and our lives, a better place.

This show deserves a lot of props behind the scenes as I cannot do any of this alone. Thank you Piquette for always hearing the crazy come out of my mouth and turning it into a beautiful set. Without you I don't know where this program would be! To our very own Snyder: I cannot thank you enough for helping with this show and fostering care for so many over the time that MHS has been blessed by you. Your presence will be missed daily and your absence will be felt deeply. From all of us here at MHS Theatre Co...we love you, we support you, we are proud of you, and we cannot wait to see what heights you soar to! Management, thank you for your countless hours and dedication to this show and everyone involved in it. My cast: I am beyond proud of you and everything you have accomplished with Freaky Friday. It has been my privilege to watch you all grow in your talents!

Special thanks to the MUSD School Board and our MHS Administration for their constant support. Finally, thank you to our family and friends who have supported me, my team, and my students through the long rehearsals and tireless process.
