#Shakespeare 400

In order to commemorate the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s legacy, Douglas Drama is proud to present Romeo & Juliet! Attempting to bring a modern twist on this classic tragedy, this show has drawn from the trends of the modern world. With dystopian futures flooding the literary and film communities, this production is inspired by stories such as Divergent and The Hunger Games. With speckles of muted reds and blues, and an overall darker tone, these feuding families represent different lifestyles, old money versus new money, and an ageless war. This story has been told in thousands of ways, and we are honored to put our own twist on it.
