Godspell - March 16 - March 17, 2018

Maumelle High School

 DIRECTOR'S NOTE

Welcome to Maumelle High School. We hope you enjoy our production of Godspell. Join us on a journey with singing, dancing and storytelling. This production could not be possible without the many individuals that put in many hours to make this show happen. Where do I begin? First I would like to thank the Maumelle High School Administration for the support they have provided to our department this school year. They have allowed our students to experience theatre and the arts this year in many ways. We are very blessed to have such amazing educators here at Maumelle High School I would like to thank Ms. Lunsford, Mr. Birdsong, Ms. Jenkins, Mrs. Smith, Mr. VanHorn and Mrs. Thomas in particular. Without these professionals we would not be able to present this level of set design to finished product and vocal performing for this spring musical. Next I would like to thank the students involved with building and painting the set for Godspell. Through a collaborative effort between the stagecraft and art classes to design and create a finished product which was carried out seamlessly. They have done a wonderful job and I appreciate all of their work to make this happen. This show has a lot of moving parts when it comes to lights, sound, live musicians, etc. The student directors (Braden Hughes and Leah Profit), student musicians (Dan Anderson, Adam Chasteen, Logan Davis and Asher Hamlin) and student running crew (Reggie Grant, Kolton Silvey and Ethan Whitehurst) have done a great job of keeping the show running smoothly at all times. I cannot forget the work put in by our student choreographers Dakota Dollarhide, Eve Hamilton, Abigail Martinez and Charles Moton. These individuals have worked to ensure that our cast was comfortable with the choreography and looked great on the stage. This cast of Godspell has really bonded to give their all at every rehearsal. Their perseverance during the rehearsal process has been outstanding. As you can see, our students have put a great deal of time into this production so we appreciate your support by coming to see this show. Lastly, I would like to thank my dear husband, Nate. With his support we have been able to produce successful productions this year. Here's to looking to the future and planning even bigger and better things to come for the Maumelle High School Theatre program.

Sincerely,

Shoshanna Wenger
